The Yocto Project
A Linux Build Environment for Embedded System
The Yocto Project is build tool/platform professionally supported by IBM to create customized embedded linux for various applications. It originated from OpenEmbedded and uses bitbake as a build tool. All one need is a little knowledge about python and working in Linux shell environment.
Imagine one has to create customized linux for any embedded platform. Yocto project comes in handy for these cases. The slogan of Yocto Project is "It's not an embedded linux distribution - It creates one for you". The aim of this lightning talk is to create an overview about Yocto Project, its uses on todays connected world with an example.
